About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands on Maintenance Fitter/Production 2IC to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Brooklyn, VIC tyre-retreading facility.
You will need to be a qualified fitter and have experience in a production/manufacturing supervisory level role, and while not necessary, tyre retreading experience would be an advantage.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations of the retread facility, including equipment maintenance, leadership & training. This role will require you to work on the factory floor as part of the production team to ensure we consistently meet strict safety, production & quality targets.

Roles/Responsibilities
- Manage breakdown and preventive maintenance of all plant & equipment, including site facilities,
- Ensure all maintenance and breakdown issues are tracked and documented,
- Support the Production Manager to run daily production safely and efficiently, ensuring company’s targets are being met consistently,
- Lead, coach, and develop factory team to achieve safety, quality, and production targets,
- Run toolbox meetings covering safety, production, quality, operational matters and continuous-improvement ideas,
- Coordinate contractors and vendors on matters relating to plant, equipment, facilities and process improvement,
- Lead process-improvement activities and equipment installation, commissioning, decommissioning, removal and disposal.
To be successful in this role you must possess the following:
- Valid Driver’s license & Forklift license or ability to obtain one;
- Certificate III mechanical trade qualification in fitting;
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems;
- Computer literacy across Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel;
- Previous supervisory experience;
- Proven people-management skills;
- Willing to undergo a police check and drug & alcohol test - Essential.
