Palms City Resort is a boutique resort in the Darwin CBD seeking a Maintenance Manager to join the team. This role is varied and requires someone who is a team player and self motivated to ensure the property is presented to the highest level. This is a hands on role with an approx. split of 90% of time on tools and 10% admin.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the Resort property to the highest level including maintaining all gardens, buildings and plant
- Manage all maintenance and repair issues throughout the property to a trade level finish
- Train and motivate team members to promote a cooperative, team work focused environment
- Possess computer skills inclusive of Microsoft Office suite
- Maintain relevant qualifications and tickets required to complete tasks in addition to thorough WHS knowledge
- Supervise all maintenance activities and ensure they are conducted as per maintenance procedures and policies
- Ensure all employees and contractors follow and adhere to safe work systems and all site procedures and policies
- Provide preventative maintenance with completion of the weekly maintenance schedule and any other items that may arise
- Work closely with the Front Office team to prioritize all unplanned, breakdown repairs or urgent work
- Work closely with the House Keeping team to address maintenance in rooms and provide assistance with tasks that require a higher skill set. E.g.: working at heights
- Approach all tasks with a "customer first" mindset to ensure minimal disturbance to guest experience.
- Be willing to work a rotating roster to accommodate the 24/7 nature of maintaining a resort including on call duties

Palms City Resort offers a range of both hotel style and villa style accommodation along with a breakfast cafe, pool and event spaces. The resort caters predominantly to domestic travelers with a small percentage of international visitors who generally visit over the dry season.
