Policy Officer (VPS4)

Join the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and play a key role in supporting policy and governance outcomes across Victoria's public land, marine and coastal portfolios.

As a Policy Officer, you will contribute to the development of policy advice, coordinate governance and reporting processes, and support oversight of public entities and advisory bodies. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality briefings, correspondence, strategic projects and governance initiatives that support government priorities.

This role is suited to a motivated and adaptable qualified with strong written communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working collaboratively, and have the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

- Experience in undertaking policy analysis and providing policy advice is desirable
- Knowledge, skills and experience with policy development and analysis in a relevant subject area is desirable
- Experience undertaking engagement with stakeholders on policy issues is desirable
- Knowledge of public land management is desirable
- An understanding of Victorian Government policy processes is desirable.
- Tertiary qualification(s) in social sciences, public policy, natural resources and environmental management, law or similar are desirable.

This is a fixed term position available 29 October 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
