ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Doctor to join our Australian Women's Cricket Team on a maximum-term parental leave contract for up to 12 months.
This is a unique opportunity to provide clinical leadership, medical care and continuous oversight of the health and wellbeing of Australian Women's Team players and other centrally contracted players. Working across touring and non-touring environments, you will partner with Cricket Australia's multidisciplinary performance team to support integrated injury and illness management, medical risk assessment and return-to-play decision-making.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing clinical care and oversight of player health and wellbeing, including injury and illness management, preventative health and return-to-play decisions.
- Acting as the primary medical escalation point for complex or high-risk matters and advising on player availability, readiness and medical risk.
- Delivering medical services during tours and team activities, including emergency care, medical planning, travel health and continuity of care.
- Collaborating with players, coaching and team management, Performance Services, SSSM practitioners,
specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential medical records and providing clear medical advice and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
When not touring, the role is expected to provide case management support averaging one day per week, commencing in February and continuing until at least June/July.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Interested candidates should:
- Hold a medical degree and current AHPRA registration with no restrictions on practice.
- Have demonstrated experience providing medical services within elite or high-performance sport.
- Have a strong capability in injury and illness management, clinical risk assessment and return-to-play decision-making.
- Have experience working effectively within multidisciplinary medical and performance teams, with sound judgement in complex or high-risk situations.
- Demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder management, documentation and medical record-keeping skills.
- Have the capacity to travel domestically and internationally and support the majority of the required touring schedule (as per below schedule). Tour dates are negotiable for the right candidate.
- Hold a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians, or current ACSEP Registrar status, is highly desirable.
- Have experience in expedition, travel or resource-limited medicine is desirable.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to player wellbeing, confidentiality, safeguarding and compliance with Cricket Australia policies and anti-doping requirements.

8 February - 1 March:
ICC Women's Champions Trophy (in India)
5-10 March: Home ODI series vs Recent Zealand (in Canberra & Melbourne)
19 March - 18 April: Multi-format series vs South Africa (in South Africa)
31 May - 2 June: Team Camp (in Brisbane)
10 June - 21 July: Ashes Series (in England)
8 December - 6 Jan: Multi-format series vs India (in India)
