About the role
As Store Manager, you'll lead the retail team and look after the day-to-day running of the Brunswick Store. You'll work closely with the Deputy CEO, CEO and the wider Clothing The Gaps team to make sure retail spaces run smoothly, customers have a great experience and the team has the support they need.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside the team on the shop floor, support and guide people, connect with customers and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of retail spaces. The role will primarily be based at the Flagship Store at Shop 18, 459A Sydney Road, Brunswick on Wurundjeri Country.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support and train the retail team
- Prepare staff rosters and manage changes when someone is away or plans change
- Make sure there is the right staff coverage across retail spaces
- Create a welcoming and inclusive space for customers and team
- Keep the store running smoothly and make sure daily goals are met
- Connect with customers and share the purpose, stories and values behind Clothing The Gaps and products
- Look after stock, merchandising and point-of-sale processes
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of new retail team members
- Manage timesheets and other day-to-day team administration
- Help keep retail spaces safe, organised and welcoming
About you
- Experience working in a customer-focused retail environment
- A positive understanding of how a retail store operates day to day
- Strong communication and people skills
- Confidence organising priorities, solving problems and getting things done
- The ability to work independently and make day-to-day decisions
- A full Australian driver's licence
- A genuine connection with Clothing The Gaps' purpose and values
The Hours
This is a part-time role with a regular set five-day working week of 35 hours and 15 minutes:
Tuesday to Friday: 9.30 am to 5.15 pm
Saturday: 9.30 am to 4.15 pm
Sunday and Monday will be your regular days off, giving you a consistent working pattern each week.
