About us:

InPlace is a B2B SaaS platform for work-integrated learning and clinical placements. Our software helps students complete their degrees and enter the workforce with real-world experience. We serve education and healthcare organisations across ANZ, UK/EU, North America and the Middle East. The easier we make our users' work, the greater our impact on health, education, engineering and other industries, improving the employability of students everywhere.

Product teams work in squads that pair product and design with engineering. Each squad is empowered to act fast. Squads fix issues quickly and build new features from market feedback in parallel. Every squad uses AI tools, and we share AI wins across squads.

InPlace values people who deliver outcomes over activity, bring real expertise, stay calm and focused, communicate straight up, step up to do more, ask for and give help, and just get on with it.

About the role:

You support a squad's product manager in delivering features for our platform. You keep the team's daily work organised and moving. You learn discovery, requirements and analytics through hands-on work. You help carry features from start to finish. This role offers a clear path to progress within the Product Management discipline.

Key responsibilities:

- Help run, prepare and contribute to the squad's daily processes and ceremonies. Stand-ups, refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retros.

- Manage the backlog in Jira. Keep tickets current, prioritised and ready for refinement.

- Write user stories and acceptance criteria for scoped features, reviewed by the product manager.

- Define problems before solutions. Capture user needs, goals, expected outcomes and constraints.

- Run scripted user interviews and usability sessions. Take notes and synthesise findings.

- Build basic reports and dashboards in Amplitude to track feature usage.

- Map user flows and simple journeys in Miro.

- Walk the team through requirements. Answer questions with clear knowledge of context.

- Support product demos, pre-sales requests and go-to-market activity as needed.

- Build templates and AI workflows that make team processes faster.

- Develop personal AI workflows and optimisations for high productivity.

About you:

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communicator. This is the top requirement for the role.

- Mindset: Critical thinker. Curious, and explores new domains with excitement. Takes initiative and digs into problems. Works with the squad and stakeholders to find the best solution. Enjoys championing delivery from start to finish.

- Experience: 1 to 2 years in product management, or 3 to 5 years in business analysis within a software business.

- Delivery: Demonstrated contributions to the end to end SDLC (definition to release)

for new features and upgrading existing.

- Requirements: Transparent writing of PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria.

- Problem definition: Frame problems in terms of user needs, goals, outcomes and constraints, independent of any solution, and knows the difference.

- Interaction design: Basic understanding of flows, wireframes, micro-interactions, information architecture and usability principles.

- Organisation: Strong project management. Keeps work, meetings and people on track.

- Systems thinking: Sees how parts of a process connect. Spots gaps and dependencies.

- AI: Uses Claude and Claude Code (or equivalent). Builds prototype web applications. Has built AI workflows for internal processes. Has developed personal AI workflows and optimisations for high productivity.

- Templates: Creates structured, reusable templates for recurring work.

- Presentation: Presents requirements clearly to the team. Handles questions with confidence.

Preferred:

- B2B SaaS experience.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, commerce or a related field.

- Research: Hands-on exposure to user interviews, usability testing, surveys and affinity mapping. Examples required.

- Analytics: Working knowledge of product and web analytics. Can read funnels and usage reports.
