About our service

Puckapunyal One Tree Defence Unit Puckapunyal is located within the Puckapunyal Military Area, near Seymour in regional Victoria. Our 86-place long day care service supports Defence families and the local community, creating a welcoming and connected environment for children, families and educators.

Our service has dedicated nursery, toddler and pre-kindergarten rooms, along with generous outdoor spaces where children have plenty of room to explore, play and learn. We're open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

As our Pre-Kindy Room Leader, you'll play an key role in creating a room where children feel confident, curious and supported as they prepare for their next stage of learning. You'll work closely with your team to guide the program, create engaging experiences and ensure every child's individual strengths and interests are recognised.

You'll also be supported by a leadership team that wants you to succeed. Whether you're an experienced Room Leader looking for your next service or an experienced Educator ready to step into leadership, we want to give you the support and opportunities to grow.

What you'll bring

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Previous experience within early childhood education, ideally with Pre-Kindy/Kindergarten-aged children
- Previous Room Leader experience or the confidence and drive to take the next step into leadership
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
- Confidence leading, mentoring and supporting a team of educators
- Strong understanding of programming, observations and children's individual learning goals
- Ability to build genuine relationships with children and families
- A positive, reliable and collaborative approach to leadership
