About the role

This is a Technical 3D Design role within the events, experiential and custom fabrication industry. The role is primarily focused on design for manufacture. You'll generally receive a concept, visual, sketch, existing design or brief and need to develop it into a technically resolved design ready for manufacture. Projects include custom event builds and activations, pop-ups and exhibitions, cabinets and displays, signage, props and event assets, spatial installations, hire products including bars, plinths, backdrops and other event assets, and custom fabrication projects. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional site measure-ups, installations and project-related site work.

Key responsibilities

- Develop accurate 3D models from concepts and briefs.

- Design components and structures with manufacturing, assembly, transport and installation in mind.

- Produce detailed technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.

- Select appropriate materials and construction methods.

- Prepare CNC-ready files, DXFs and cutting paths.

- Work with our workshop and external manufacturers to resolve production requirements.

- Review and refine designs based on fabrication and manufacturing constraints.

- Assist with site measure-ups and resolve technical issues where required.

- Support projects through to manufacture and installation when required.

About you

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar or related field, such as product design, furniture design, cabinetry/joinery, technical drafting, industrial design, exhibition/display design or shopfitting.

- A Bachelor's degree in Design, Industrial Design, Product Design,



Architecture or a related discipline is preferred, but not essential where relevant industry experience can be demonstrated.

- Proficient in a professional 3D CAD/modelling software, such as Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Fusion 360, Inventor or Vectorworks.

- Strong ability to develop manufacturable 3D designs and technical drawings from concepts, visuals, sketches or briefs.

- Understanding of CNC manufacturing, including DXF exports, cutting paths and production files.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical construction and manufacturing methods.

- Broad understanding of cabinetry, signage, spatial design, timber and sheet materials, plastics, paints, tolerances and metal fabrication.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

- Reliable transport to and from our Geebung warehouse is required.

- A positive attitude, practical mindset and willingness to learn are important. At times, you'll be client-facing, so you'll need to be approachable, skilled and well presented.
