We are looking for a Bookkeeper Manager to join our Mornington team .

About the role

The Bookkeeping Manager owns the quality, compliance and throughput of their team. The role revies the team's BAS, reconciliation and period end work, is the escalation point for complex ATO, regulatory and client matters and leads their bookkeepers through allocation of work, mentoring and development. It carries accountability for their team's client portfolio as well as the standards and systems the team works to.

Key responsibilities

- Review and quality check BAS, statutory returns,



reconciliations and general ledger work prepared by the team

- Own end of month, quarterly and yearly processing across the bookkeeping team

- Act as the escalation point for complex ATO, compliance and client matters

- Lead, mentor and develop your bookkeepers, including onboarding, training and performance

- Manage workflow allocation, capacity and lodgement deadlines across the team

- Oversee the team's client portfolio and work closely with the Partner on client risk and opportunities

- Lead consistent use of software, systems and documented processes

- Prepare and lodge BAS and other statutory returns, including STP finalisation, TPAR and payroll tax

About you

- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping

- At least 5 years' bookkeeping experience in public practice, including reviewing the work of others

- Strong experience preparing, reviewing and lodging BAS and IAS

- Up to date knowledge of GST and payroll compliance

- Confident with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, plus strong Excel skills

- Able to manage a large workflow and juggle competing deadlines across a team

- Direct and explicit, comfortable raising issues early and holding a standard under pressure

- Registered BAS Agent, team leadership experience or FYI Elite experience would be highly regarded
