About us:
Ourbrand-new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service has opened at the Rockhampton Hospital, marking an exciting new chapter for mental health care across Central Queensland.
Thisstate-of-the-art facilityhas been purposefully designed to support recovery, safety and wellbeing. It featureshigh and low dependency units, dedicated therapy spaces, modern administrative areas and indoor garden spaces, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both consumers and staff.
The new service will strengthen access to specialist inpatient mental health care for communities acrossRockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions. Are you ready to be a part of it?
About the role:
- Provide high-qualitySocial Work assessment, intervention, risk managementand discharge planningfor consumers withcomplex and acutemental health presentations.
- Work collaborativelywithin the inpatientteam to developrecovery-focused careplans and supportconsumers, families, carersand significant others.
- Act as asenior clinical resource,
supporting complex caseswhile providing supervision, education and mentoringto staff, studentsand less experiencedpractitioners.
- Contribute to thedevelopment of modelsof care, serviceintegration, clinical governance, quality improvement andbest-practice approacheswithin the newinpatient facility.
- Advocate for consumers' rights and needswhile applying trauma-informed, culturally responsiveand least-restrictivepractices to improveoutcomes for individuals.
About you:
- A recognised Social Work degree and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong experience delivering evidence-based Social Work assessment and intervention for people experiencing acute and complex inpatient mental health presentations.
- Advanced professional judgement and expertise in risk assessment, formulation and clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary environment.
- The ability to influence practice, contribute meaningfully to a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships through highly developed communication and engagement skills.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
