Medical Officer, Phase 1 Research Unit | Sydney | $125k to $155k + super
Interested in clinical research but unsure where to start? An experienced Phase 1 clinical trial site network is looking for doctors in Sydney who want to build a career in early-phase research.
No trials experience is necessary. Why consider it Investigator responsibility early on.
You’ll be a Co-Investigator and, when delegated, Principal Investigator on healthy volunteer studies. $125,000 to $155,000 plus super, depending on your postgraduate years. Permanent, full time with more predictable hours than hospital rosters.
Supportive entry into research. Trials experience and recent GCP training are welcome but not essential. Work hands-on with new treatments at the point they’re first given to people.
Day to day duties
- Medical screening and review of study participants
- Safety oversight and adverse event management
Investigator duties
- Investigator duties to protocol and GCP standards
- Working alongside nursing, research and sponsor teams
Requirements
- PGY3 or above
- Full, unconditional AHPRA registration (2 years minimum)
- Recent clinical experience (last 2 years), including cannulation
- Advanced Life Support training
- A genuine long-term interest in clinical research
Whether you’re a registrar between training posts, a locum GP or ED doctor wanting something more settled, or already research-curious, I’d like to hear from you!
