We support our team members to build a caseload that reflects their individual interests, strengths and professional goals.

About Sound Abilities Speech Pathology

We’re a small allied health team based on Bribie Island, working from a welcoming, renovated clinic just two blocks from the waterfront. Our current speech pathology team has particular experience supporting children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, as well as adults with communication and swallowing needs.

We’re committed to:

Providing effective, evidence-based therapy to clients across the lifespan

Supporting our team to continue developing their skills through a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth

Providing inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming and empathetic care

Bringing fun and positivity into our work, including team activities that make the most of Bribie Island's beautiful natural environment.

About our new team member

Our ideal team member will have a special interest in one (or more!) of the following areas:

receptive and expressive language

adolescent language and literacy

autism and neurodiversity-affirming practice

augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including assessment, implementation and ongoing support.

If your area of interest is outside of these areas, or you enjoy working across a combination of different areas,

we'd still love to hear from you. We're happy to explore how your interests and experience could fit within our team and the needs of our community.

It’s also important to us that you are:

flexible and individualised in your approach, tailoring therapy to each client and their family

able to build cooperative, positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues

proactive, compassionate and genuinely invested in making a difference for the people you support.

The role on offer

You’ll provide assessment and intervention within your preferred areas of interest, with support to continue developing your clinical skills and expertise in the areas that matter most to you.

As part of the role, you will:

provide high-quality, evidence-based speech pathology assessment and intervention to clients and their families or carers

maintain clear and accurate clinical records using our practice management software

prepare reports and other clinical documentation within appropriate timeframes

collaborate with families, carers and other members of a client's support team to provide coordinated, person-centred care

participate in regular supervision, professional development and opportunities for ongoing learning.

Benefits of working with us

At Sound Abilities Speech Pathology, we want our team members to feel supported, valued and able to do their best work. We provide the time, resources,

training and support you need to develop your skills and feel confident in your role.

You’ll have genuine flexibility and autonomy in shaping your work week, including setting your working hours around what works for you. You’ll also have flexibility in how you provide therapy, whether that’s through individual sessions, telehealth, group programs, parent or carer coaching, or a combination of approaches.

Some of the benefits of working for Sound Abilities include:

competitive remuneration based on experience

flexible, family-friendly working arrangements, including the option of a 4‑day week, 9‑day fortnight or flexible start and end times
