We are seeking anOCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - GRADE 1 to work in a full time (80 hours/fortnight) capacity based at NHILL .
ABOUT THE ROLE
- This position will provide Occupational Therapy services in the areas of
rehabilitation, acute care, community care and in residential aged care using evidence-based practice.
- Caseload allocation will be appropriate to experience level, with gradual progression across settings as competency develops.
- WWHS supports ongoing career development, including internal training, external CPD opportunities, and rural practice development.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Current or eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively with peers and other professionals and speak to community groups as required.
- Demonstrated high level of written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently but also as a member of a team. Must be effective in a team and be able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
- Must be self-motivated and be responsible and responsive to a situation where a high level of professional autonomy exists.
Desirable
- Previous placement or work experience in a hospital/healthcare setting.
- Experience and understanding of issues specific to provision of services in rural and remote areas.
- Have proven abilities in the assessment and development of strategies to improve function and participation in activities of daily living for a wide range of patients (paediatric to the older adult) with conditions such as musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions using a problem-solving and objective approach and a demonstrated flexibility to manage a diverse caseload.
- Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook and other databases such as iCare, and Uniti. Experience utilising the My Aged Care portal is also desirable
PRE-REQUISITES
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Working with Children Check.
- Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
- Australian Driver’s Licence.
