About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves working on a range of trucks, heavy machinery, and crushing equipment, supporting the day-to-day operations of the workshop.

Working alongside the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment to a high standard, minimising downtime, and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and correctly.

This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who can take ownership of their work, think independently, and operate without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and associated systems

- Service and repair trucks, earthmoving equipment, and crushing plant machinery

- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance

- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

- Carry out breakdown repairs in the workshop and on-site when required

- Maintain accurate service records and reports

- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies

- Work collaboratively with the Workshop Manager and team

Skills & Experience (Minimum Requirements)

- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic





- Proven experience working on heavy vehicles and machinery (not just light vehicles)

- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

- Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic ability (not just parts replacement)

- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

- Reliable with consistent attendance

- Current driver’s licence

Highly Regarded

- Experience with crushing and screening equipment

- HR/HC licence

- Field service or breakdown experience
