About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking HSE Business Partner to join our project team supporting Brisbane Airport. This highly visible role sits within a complex project environment, partnering with leaders, contractors, clients and internal stakeholders to identify risks, solve problems and support safe, reliable project delivery. Reporting to the Head of HSE, you will provide practical advice, coaching and assurance across a complex fluid airport project environment. You will help strengthen safety leadership, enhance critical risk management and support compliance with legislative, client and company requirements. This role is ideal for someone proactive, solution-focused HSE professional who is confident influencing teams and finding practical ways forward in a dynamic setting where no two days are the same.
What You Will Do
- Partner with project leaders, operational teams and frontline employees to build safety capability and accountability.
- Provide practical, solution-focused HSE advice to clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification, and critical control verification activities.
- Conduct inspections, audits and compliance activities.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and shared learning.
- Support contractor pre-qualification, onboarding, assurance and compliance activities.
- Working with clients and internal stakeholders to develop practical solutions that support safe project delivery.
- Maintaining HSE records, reporting requirements and risk trend insights to support better decisions.
About You
- You take ownership and initiative rather than waiting for direction.
- You are highly solution-focused and confident supporting clients, project teams and internal stakeholders.
- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' HSE experience in an operational, maintenance, engineering, construction, industrial, project or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Experience with incident investigations, risk assessments and ISO-based management systems.
- Confident communicator with strong coaching, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, solutions focused and comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC, including successful completion of a police check.
Highly Regarded
- ICAM Lead Investigator or Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience in airport, logistics, automation, industrial or maintenance environments.
- Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience with contractor management, critical risk programs or return-to-work processes.
