Registered Nurse (Cardiac Catheter Suite)

Join our Cardiac Catheter Suite team delivering advanced cardiac procedures, 24/7 emergency support and patient-centred care

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Registered Nurses (Cardiac Catheter Suite) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

- Exemplify Cardiac, Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department experience
- Participate in the pre, intra, and post procedural care of patients in the recovery area
- Undertake the scrub, scout and documentation roles within the lab areas, after suitable training
- Apply adult learning principals to assist staff and student learning of Cardiac Catheterisation skills
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call roster when suitably trained

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for recent employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $87,790 - $112,607 per annum or $44.27 - $56.79 per hour

About Us

The Cardiac Catheter Suite (CCS) offers a great environment, team support and development, operating Monday to Friday from 07:00-18:00 hours to perform elective and urgent patient procedures. After hours on-call service is provided for emergencies seven days per week. Procedures are scheduled electively for patients coming from home and urgently for those already admitted via emergency into the Inpatient Unit or in another hospital.
