This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified tradesperson who is reliable and takes pride in their workmanship and is comfortable working across a variety of workshop and site-based projects. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of mechanical, fabrication, installation and maintenance work.
Key responsibilities
- Mechanical fitting, installation and maintenance
- General fabrication and metalworks
- MIG, TIG and stick welding as required
- Equipment installation and commissioning
- Machinery repairs and breakdown maintenance
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Site installation and modification works
- Measuring, cutting, fitting and assembling components
- Working independently and as part of a project team
- Machining skills on a manual lathe and manual milling machine
About you
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or Fabricator
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge and some fabrication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good welding ability both onsite and in the workshop
- Experience with machinery installation, maintenance and repairs
- Current driver's licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
