JOB DESCRIPTION
Join Darling Downs Health as an Operational Services Officer and help create safe, welcoming and efficient healthcare environments across the Darling Downs region. In this hands‑on role, you’ll support patients, staff and visitors through a variety of essential services, working with a supportive team while making a meaningful difference every shift.
As an Operational Services Officer, you’ll help keep healthcare services running smoothly by creating clean, safe and supportive environments for patients, staff and visitors. From maintaining high service standards to assisting with patient support and facility operations, you’ll be part of a team that delivers essential outcomes every day.
Every day, you’ll contribute by:
- Supporting safe, welcoming and well‑maintained healthcare environments that enhance patient experiences.
- Assisting with patient movement, transport and non‑clinical support activities that help care teams deliver quality services.
- Delivering cleaning, catering and operational support services that meet safety, hygiene and infection control standards.
- Working collaboratively to ensure equipment, facilities and daily operations are reliable, efficient and ready when needed.

Here’s what will help you thrive in this role:
- Experience or knowledge of operational, environmental or support services, ideally within healthcare or a similar setting.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to manage priorities and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- A proactive approach, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning.
- A current C Class driver’s licence and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks and shift work requirements.
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working across diverse operational service functions and/or experience in health, aged care or community service environments.
