Dakabin Hotel is seeking experienced Chefs to join the kitchen team. The restaurant features a menu with contemporary Australian dishes as well as an Asian influence, with two kitchens serving one restaurant. You will prepare, cook and present food for consumption, working across a range of stations including pans, grill, larder, and woks.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present food for consumption or delegate to other kitchen staff including cooks
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
- Ensure food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible
- Maintain hygiene to the required standards
- Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
- Work on pans, grill, larder, woks and more
- Ensure policies, procedures and standards are current, effective and clearly communicated
- Coach and mentor team members and provide training as you work
- Provide high quality meals in a fast paced environment
- Multi-task a variety of different tasks

About you

- At least 1+ year of relevant employment experience




- Ability to help the Sous Chef and Head Chef run the kitchen without direct supervision
- Hold relevant industry trade qualifications
- Great team mindset
- Comfortable working in a large and culturally diverse kitchen
- Passion for the industry and committed to a successful career in hospitality
- Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude at all times
- Creative flair and superb presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task
