Kogan People Solutions are recruiting a skilled experience Retail Manager for an established Australian retail brand with a substantial and growing network of franchise stores across Australia.

The business has evolved from operating its own retail stores to supporting and developing its franchise network and is now seeking an experienced Retail Manager to provide the central retail management function across its Australian operations.

This is a head-office based, multi-site retail management position. Rather than managing a single outlet, the Retail Manager will be responsible for monitoring and improving retail performance across the network, maintaining consistent operating and service standards, and supporting franchisees in the effective operation of their stores.

Location: Cheltenham VIC, with regular local and interstate travel to franchise locations

Employment: Full-time and ongoing

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation per annum

The role

Reporting to senior management, the Retail Manager will organise and coordinate retail operations across the company's Australian franchise network.

Responsibilities will include:

- Monitor sales, retail KPIs and trading performance across the network, identify underperformance and work with franchisees on corrective action.
- Determine and review product mix, stock levels, product availability and retail service standards, taking account of sales trends, seasonal demand and store performance.
- Monitor sales, transaction and stock data through central retail systems and use this information to identify trends, stock issues and opportunities to improve performance.
- Work with franchisees on product ordering,



stock requirements and implementation of recommended retail pricing.
- Develop and implement product, purchasing, promotional and marketing initiatives across the franchise network, including new products, seasonal ranges and major campaigns.
- Monitor store presentation, merchandising, customer service and compliance with brand and operating standards.
- Visit franchise locations to assess operations, address retail issues and provide practical support to franchise owners, managers and staff.
- Develop, maintain and deliver retail operating procedures, training materials and training in product knowledge, systems, sales techniques and customer service.
- Work within stores where required to demonstrate operating and sales practices, support new store setup and improve retail performance.
- Review recurring customer service and operational issues and work with franchisees to implement corrective action.
- Prepare and manage budgets for approved network-wide retail initiatives, promotions, store presentation materials and related projects.
- Plan retail requirements for major trading periods and seasonal events, including anticipated stock and product demand.
- Coordinate with marketing, procurement and logistics to ensure stores receive appropriate stock, promotional materials and operational support.




- Prepare regular reports and recommendations for senior management on sales performance, stock requirements, store standards and wider retail issues.

About you

We are looking for someone who offers:

- a minimum Diploma-level qualification in retail management, business or a closely related discipline, or agreed alternative;
- at least one year of relevant experience in retail management;
- substantial experience in retail management, ideally within a multi-site, franchise or comparable retail setting;
- demonstrated experience monitoring sales performance and using retail data to identify opportunities for improvement;
- sound knowledge of stock management, product ranging, merchandising, retail promotions and customer service standards;
- experience training and supporting retail staff and managers;
- strong commercial judgement and an understanding of the factors affecting individual store performance;
- the ability to build effective working relationships with independently operated franchise businesses while maintaining consistent retail and brand standards;
- well-developed organisational, communication and problem-solving skills;
- confidence working both from head office and directly within retail stores;
- the ability and willingness to travel to franchise locations throughout Australia as required; and
- a current Australian driver's licence.
