An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Lead Data Analysts to join a high-performing team delivering advanced analytics, reporting, and insight-driven outcomes within a complex and data-rich environment. This role will provide leadership across analytical activities, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support strategic and operational decision-making. The position offers hybrid working arrangements across QLD, ACT, VIC and NSW on an initial 12-month contract with a 12-month extension option.
The successful Lead Data Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Undertaking day-to-day analytical work and project management activities, including regular reporting, one-off analyses, and ad hoc data requests.
- Analysing complex datasets, identifying trends and patterns, and providing evidence-based insights to support business outcomes.
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of reporting frameworks, governance processes, and quality assurance practices.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business areas to ensure consistent use of data, reporting standards, and messaging.
- Presenting analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences across a range of forums.
- Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members while promoting best-practice analytical approaches.
The successful Lead Data Analyst will have experience in the following:
- Extensive experience in data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence within large and complex environments.
- Strong data analysis capabilities, including advanced SQL skills and experience with data visualisation and statistical analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex data-related problems through critical thinking and analytical reasoning.
- Proven experience communicating complex data insights and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Desirable experience with Python, R, machine learning, fraud analytics, or advanced statistical methodologies.
