The Role
Reporting to the Manager Governance and Risk and based in Windsor
NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to provide
proactive collaboration and support to Council’s Internal Audit Coordinator and
Council’s Internal Audit function as well as all associated tasks, and champion
Internal Audit by raising awareness within Council.
About You
You have demonstrated experience within an internal
audit role, with proficiency in applying Internal Audit standards, procedures, techniques
and advanced principles and practices of fraud analysis and prevention. You
will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the
ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders,
strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exercising sound judgement. You
will be able to work independently and as part of a team and meet
organisational and legislative deadlines.
- Tertiaryqualifications in Business Administration, Accounting or a relevant businessrelated discipline and/or demonstrated experience within an Internal Audit orRisk Management function
- Demonstrated experience in a role within anInternal Audit function in a large multidisciplinary organisation
- Demonstrated understanding of risk managementprinciples, governance and controls, and the principles of public sectoraccountability
- Experience in an Internal Audit functionwithin local government
- Knowledge of appropriate legislativeprovisions including the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government(General) Regulation 2021
- Exceptional planning, organisational andproject management skills
- High Level Communication and interpersonalskills
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Class C Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required toundergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
