Our client is a well-established and growing organisation with operations across several states and its head office based in Melbourne. They have a supportive, people-focused culture and are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead their finance function through the next stage of growth.
The Role
Reporting to the executive team, you'll lead and develop a finance team and take ownership of day-to-day finance operations. A key focus will be making processes, controls and reporting consistent across the business, using technology to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team
- Strengthening financial controls and governance
- Delivering monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, budgets and forecasts, with insightful commentary
- Overseeing cash flow, treasury and transactional finance
- Managing all tax and statutory compliance
- Managing the relationships with the external auditors and tax advisers
- Driving system and process improvements to reduce manual work and improve reporting

The Successful Candidate
You'll be a hands-on, practical finance leader with high standards and a team-oriented style. You'll bring:
- CA or CPA qualifications
- Initial expereince in a chartered firm environment - e.g. big 4 or mid-tier - is advantageous
- Several years in a senior finance leadership role
- Experience in a multi-site or decentralised business
- Strong budgeting, cash flow, consolidation and controls experience
- A proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Solid knowledge of Australian tax and statutory requirements
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xero highly regarded)
- A strong continuous-improvement mindset
