CC Landscapes is a residential pool and landscape design and construction business based in Leichhardt. We're a team of eleven, run by two owners, building high-end pools and gardens across Sydney's inner west and eastern suburbs.
The role
We're bringing our bookkeeping in-house and combining it with our office administration into a single role. You'd own the books and keep the office running — working directly with the two directors.
Our preference is part-time, around 25 hours a week between 9:30 and 2:00, Monday to Friday. There's flexibility in how those hours are arranged, and we'll consider full time for the right person.
What you'll be doing
Bookkeeping and payroll in QuickBooks — reconciliations, invoicing, accounts payable, BAS preparation with our accountant
Processing weekly timesheets for our construction crews
Tracking job costs against budgets in our project management software
Answering phone and email enquiries, and following up new leads
Coordinating between our designer and the certifiers on council approvals
General office administration
What we're looking for
Solid bookkeeping experience — you're comfortable owning the accounts function rather than just doing data entry
Confident in QuickBooks or equivalent, with payroll and BAS experience
Someone who follows things through without being chased
Strong phone manner, since you'll often be the first person a client speaks to
Experience in construction, trades or a project-based business is highly regarded but not essential
Why you'd want this job
Small team, no bureaucracy, and direct access to the decision makers. The work matters — if the invoicing and job costings aren't right, the business doesn't run properly. If you like being the person who holds an office together rather than one cog in a finance department, this will suit you.
Around $50,000 plus super for 25 hours a week, or around $75,000 plus super full-time, depending on experience.
