Transition Electrics is seeking an experienced and self motivated Electrician to join our owner-operated electrical contracting business servicing the Bega Valley , Eurobodalla and Snowy Monaro Regions.

About the role

Transition Electrics is seeking an experienced and self motivated Electrician to join our owner-operated electrical contracting business servicing the Bega Valley , Eurobodalla and Snowy Monaro Regions.

Key responsibilities

- Install, test and commission residential grid-connected and off-grid solar and battery systems

- Install and commission Sigenergy solar, battery, gateway and energy management systems

- Carry out solar and battery system upgrades, maintenance and fault finding

- Complete residential electrical service, maintenance, installations and fault finding

- Carry out switchboard upgrades and associated electrical works

- Carry out Level 2 ASP work where appropriately qualified

- Work independently and take ownership of jobs from start through to completion

- Take a customer-first approach, communicating clearly, respecting customers' homes and properties, and making sure they have a positive experience from arrival through to completion

- Provide customers with professional, practical advice and clearly explain the work being carried out

- Complete electrical testing, commissioning and required compliance documentation

- Maintain accurate job records and record materials used

- Keep the company vehicle, tools and equipment organised and well maintained

- Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards, electrical regulations, network requirements and WHS procedures

- Maintain clean, safe and tidy worksites

- Help train, mentor and supervise apprentices as the business grows

- Have a growth mindset and be willing to continually learn new technologies, systems and methods of working





- Work alongside the business owner on larger or more complex solar, battery and off-grid projects

- Take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship with minimal defects and call-backs

What we're looking for

We're looking for more than just a technically capable electrician. As our first electrical hire, we're looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, represent Transition Electrics professionally and grow with the business.

The right person will:

- Hold a current NSW electrical licence and Australian driver's licence

- Be capable of working independently and managing jobs without constant supervision

- Have a customer-first approach and understand the importance of communication, reliability and respecting customers' homes and properties

- Take genuine pride in delivering high-quality, neat and compliant workmanship

- Be a self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and get on with it

- Have a growth mindset and be willing to continually learn new technologies, systems and ways of working

- Be willing and able to train, mentor and supervise an apprentice

- Have strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- Be organised, reliable and able to manage their time effectively

- Be comfortable taking responsibility for a job from arrival through to completion

- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers and other trades





- Be physically capable of solar installation work, including working outdoors and at heights

- Have a strong understanding of electrical safety, Australian Standards and WHS requirements

- Be comfortable using digital job management, testing and commissioning systems

- Be ready to start January 2027

Experience with solar, battery and off-grid systems is highly regarded.

Experience with Sigenergy systems would be an advantage, however training can be provided to the right person.

SAA accreditation is highly regarded but not essential. We're willing to support and pay for the right person to obtain the required accreditation.

Level 2 ASP experience or accreditation would also be highly regarded.

Above all, we're looking for someone who wants to take ownership, keep developing their skills and play an important role in the growth of Transition Electrics.

- $95,000–$110,000 + super , depending on experience and qualifications
