Adamstown Bowling Club is a vibrant and dynamic community-based bowling club dedicated to providing exceptional service and fostering a welcoming environment.We are dedicated to providing our members and guests with an outstanding dining experience alongside our other offerings. We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in elevating our food offerings to new heights.

Position Overview

As the Sous Chef at the Adamstown Bowling Club, you will play a key role in assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, creativity, and leadership abilities while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation, ensuring consistency and excellence in taste, presentation, and quality.

Oversee kitchen staff during food production, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to maintain high standards of performance and efficiency.

Coordinate with the Head Chef to manage inventory, ordering, and stock control, minimising waste and maximising cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace at all times.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and execute daily specials and seasonal menus,



incorporating fresh and locally-sourced ingredients where possible.

Assist in supervising kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth and timely execution of orders while upholding quality and presentation standards.

Support the Head Chef in maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance issues or concerns promptly.

Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among kitchen staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie, preferably in a high-volume, club or restaurant environment.

Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution is preferred.

Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Leadership and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to achieve common goals.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
