Ronald McDonald House North Australia is seeking a Head of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications to lead an integrated portfolio spanning marketing, communications, fundraising, corporate partnerships and supporter engagement.

About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the strategy, performance and governance of our fundraising, marketing and communications portfolio.
You will connect organisational investment with fundraising outcomes, develop long-term donor relationships, grow strategic corporate partnerships and ensure our revenue streams remain diversified and sustainable.
This is a leadership role that requires more than setting strategy. You will work alongside your team to translate strategic priorities into practical implementation, support delivery, develop capability and maintain clear accountability for performance, financial outcomes and risk.
Leading a team across fundraising, partnerships, marketing and communications, you will establish direction and priorities while ensuring our campaigns, partnerships and fundraising activities reflect best practice, protect our brand and deliver measurable results.
Marketing, digital capability & supporter growth
- Lead marketing, communications, brand and integrated campaigns to grow awareness, engagement and fundraising revenue.
- Continue developing digital fundraising capability across peer-to-peer fundraising, digital acquisition and online giving channels.
- Build long-term giving pathways, including regular giving and bequests, to strengthen donor sentiment, retention, average gift values and lifetime value.
- Use audience insights, CRM data and campaign performance to optimise supporter journeys, acquisition, retention and return on investment.
- Guide implementation through the team, overseeing budgets, agencies, KPIs and brand integrity.
- Lead an integrated fundraising strategy across individual giving, regular giving, bequests, digital fundraising, events, grants and corporate partnerships.
- Drive revenue growth and diversification, identifying opportunities to build sustainable income streams.
- Continue developing and embedding a new Mission Partner framework to grow strategic, high-value, multi-year corporate partnerships.
- Oversee partnership acquisition, retention, renewal, pipeline performance and impact reporting.
- Support implementation through the Fundraising & Partnerships Lead, maintaining accountability for revenue targets, partner outcomes and fundraising performance.
Financial performance, governance & best practice
- Own portfolio budgeting, forecasting,
financial reporting and investment decisions, ensuring resources support sustainable growth.
- Evaluate fundraising efficiency, cost-to-income ratios and return on investment to inform priorities and resource allocation.
- Maintain governance across fundraising practices, partnerships, brand, campaigns, events, supporter data and agency relationships.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, ethical fundraising principles, applicable codes and standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Provide strategic oversight and practical implementation support, maintaining clear performance accountability and managing financial, operational, brand and reputational risks.

You are a commercially minded, strategic leader who understands how marketing, fundraising, partnerships and financial performance work together to create sustainable growth.
You bring a strong marketing portfolio, a demonstrated ability to develop revenue and long-term supporter relationships, and the financial discipline to evaluate performance and make informed investment decisions.
You can move confidently between strategic planning and implementation support, empowering your team to deliver while maintaining clear oversight of results, governance and risk.
You will bring:
- Marketing and digital expertise: Demonstrated experience leading integrated marketing, brand development, digital acquisition and performance-driven campaigns, with a strong understanding of how marketing contributes to revenue and engagement.
- Fundraising and donor development: Experience developing and growing multiple fundraising channels, with an understanding of long-term giving pathways, including regular giving and bequests.
- Donor engagement and retention: A demonstrated ability to improve donor sentiment, retention, average gift values and lifetime value through effective stewardship, supporter journeys and data-led decisions.
- Strategic partnership development: Experience developing partnership frameworks, compelling value propositions and high-value, multi-year corporate partnerships that deliver sustainable revenue and meaningful impact.
- Commercial and financial acumen: Confidence in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, fundraising investment and return on investment, with the ability to turn insights into practical decisions.
- Strategy-to-implementation leadership: The ability to set strategic direction, translate plans into actionable priorities and KPIs, support delivery through functional leads and maintain accountability for outcomes.
- Governance and best practice: An understanding of fundraising governance, ethical fundraising, relevant codes and standards, accreditation requirements, brand stewardship and partnership risk management.
- Data and CRM capability: Experience using supporter data, CRM systems and performance reporting to improve fundraising effectiveness, strengthen decision-making and maintain data integrity.
- People leadership: Experience leading and developing teams,
setting clear expectations, building capability and fostering a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture.
- Stakeholder engagement: Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with executives, corporate partners, agencies and community stakeholders.
Experience in the not-for-profit, fundraising or purpose-led sector will be valuable, particularly where you have balanced revenue growth with strong governance, responsible financial management and meaningful community impact.

Pre-employment requirements: The successful applicant will be required to hold a current state-based Working with Children Check and undergo a National Criminal History Check. Regional travel and some out-of-hours work will be required.
