MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees, in partnership with Gordon Brothers Industries, is seeking a motivated Industrial Refrigeration Apprentice to join their Brisbane team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to commence or continue a career in a highly specialised trade while completing a nationally recognised qualification.

Industrial refrigeration systems play a critical role in industries such as food manufacturing, cold storage, distribution, beverage production and industrial processing. These systems are much larger and more complex than residential air conditioning systems, making Industrial Refrigeration a rewarding and sought‑after career path.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll gain hands‑on experience installing, servicing and maintaining large‑scale refrigeration systems while developing practical skills that can lead to long‑term career opportunities throughout Australia.

This apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience while you work towards completing the UEE32225 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

This role is primarily site‑based and may occasionally require overnight stays for projects located outside the Brisbane region.

Working alongside qualified technicians, your duties will include:

- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of industrial refrigeration systems
- Servicing and maintaining refrigeration equipment and associated components
- Installing refrigeration pipework and mechanical equipment
- Assisting with fault finding and troubleshooting system faults
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Monitoring refrigeration system performance and operating conditions
- Completing maintenance records and safety documentation




- Following workplace safety procedures and industry standards
- Working across a variety of industrial and commercial sites
- Full-timecontract including paid annual and personal leave
- Ongoing mentoring and support from both MIGAS and Gordon Brothers Industries
- Paid annual leave, personal leave and public holidays

About You

You should have a strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and the confidence to ask questions. A genuine interest in how things work mechanically is essential for this role.

If you enjoy working with mechanical systems, repairing or maintaining vehicles, or have experience with hand and power tools, you’ll be well suited to this role.

An interest in learning about electrical systems is also important, as the trade qualification includes some electrical components.

To be considered for this role, you will also need to:

- Hold a current driver’s licence
- Have a Construction White Card (or be willing to obtain one)
- Forklift ticket (highly regarded)
- Have a current LVR/CPR certificate (or be willing to complete the training, which MIGAS will organise upon commencement)
- Be vaccinated for Q Fever or willing to undertake vaccination
- Demonstrate strong safety awareness and understanding
- Be well presented with excellent communication skills
- Possess strong listening skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Be able to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol screening, and a Police Check
