Diversified Communications Australia – Sydney CBD NSW

Diversified Australia is a leading trade events and business media company, and we are on a mission to connect, educate and strengthen Australian business communities.

As part of a third-generation, family-owned global group that has been growing since 1949, we bring industries together through world-class trade shows, conferences and digital content. Our portfolio spans Food and Hospitality, Manufacturing, Energy, Security, AV and more. Every year, our events help thousands of businesses make connections, discover new ideas and do business.

At Diversified, we're producers, educators and strategists. We curate the bright ideas, create the communities and run the events that industries rely on to grow. Our people work across Melbourne and Sydney and sit proudly within a global network with offices in the US, Canada and the UK. That means real career pathways, local ownership of your work and the backing of a business that's built to last.

We're a team that brings the same energy and passion to everything we do, from the trade show floor to community volunteer days, and we celebrate the wins along the way. If you want to grow your career, be trusted with real responsibility and help shape the future of Australia's business events, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us at Diversified and help us create something exceptional!

The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven, people-focused sales professional to join our team as a Client Manager for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover. You'll play a key part in the success of one of our trade events, supporting revenue growth by building strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors and industry leaders, and helping them get the most from our events.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you'll look after a defined portfolio of accounts across exhibition space, sponsorship and digital. You'll keep existing customers happy and rebooking, find new business opportunities, and understand what each customer is trying to achieve so you can recommend the right solution. You'll work closely with our Product, Marketing and Operations colleagues to make sure those customer needs are delivered. On show days, you'll be out on the floor catching up with customers, hearing their feedback and kicking off conversations about next year.

You won't be learning on your own. You'll have regular coaching,

clear activity benchmarks and structured guidance to help you build your consultative selling skills and grow your career. You'll also have the support of a team that celebrates wins together, asks for help openly and backs each other every step of the way.

The Team:

We're a team of curious, energetic people who love what we do and love doing it together. We're spread across Melbourne and Sydney, and we're part of a global family-owned group, so you get the warmth of a close-knit crew with the reach of an international business.

We're community builders at heart. Whether you're on the show floor, behind the content or working on the next big idea, you'll be surrounded by colleagues who share knowledge, swap ideas and cheer each other on. We learn from each other every day, and we're always looking for new ways to get things done.

We're looking for someone who's keen to grow with us and just as keen to jump in, back their teammates and be part of something bigger. You don't need to fit a mould. We value different backgrounds, perspectives and ways of working, because that's what makes our team (and our events) better.

If you enjoy a fun, supportive workplace and you're always looking to learn and improve, we'd love to hear from you.

The Person:

We're looking for someone with a background in sales, business development, account management or another customer-facing role, and a genuine passion for building relationships. You're a confident communicator who enjoys picking up the phone, meeting new people and having great conversations with customers, and you're just as comfortable following up in writing as you are face to face. A sharp eye for detail and valuable time management is essential, because you'll be juggling multiple accounts, proposals and deadlines.

Above all, we're looking for someone who is curious, coachable and keen to grow. You understand (or want to learn) how a consultative, needs-based approach to selling works, you welcome feedback as a chance to get better, and you're proactive, resilient and driven to achieve results. Experience with Salesforce and MS Office is a bonus,

and an interest in the events and exhibition industry will take you far. Industry knowledge is valued but not required, because we'll help you learn the rest.

Our events are a big part of what we do, so you'll need to be willing to work at shows, outside standard business hours from time to time and travel when required. It's all part of the fun of being on the floor with our customers and seeing your hard work come to life.

Ready to make your mark? You might be our person if:

- You love connecting with people and building relationships that last
- You're motivated by targets and get a buzz from seeing your efforts turn into results
- You're curious, open to feedback and keen to build your sales skills with the support of regular coaching
- You enjoy a fast-moving environment with plenty of variety, from the phone to the show floor
- You're organised, detail-minded and happy juggling multiple accounts and priorities
- You're interested in events and exhibitions, or in learning about a new industry and its people

What's on offer:

We want the best people in events, and we want them to stay. That's why we offer market-related salaries that reflect your skills, experience and expertise, so you're recognised for what you bring.

Our workplace is in the heart of the city, with cafes, shops and plenty of lunchtime options just a short walk away. It's a great place to be, whether you're heading in for a busy show build-up or a team catch-up.

At Diversified, people are at the heart of everything we do. That's why we offer:

- Flexible working with Mondays and Fridays from home
- Wellbeing leave , so you can rest, reset and look after yourself
- Volunteer days , so you can give back to causes you care about
- Parental leave to support you and your family
- Social Committee to ensure we play as hard as we work
- A whole raft of other benefits that make work feel like a place you want to be

We're proud of the culture we're building, and we keep working to make it better. It's a team where everyone is welcome, every voice counts, and people from all backgrounds, experiences and walks of life are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.

If you're looking for a agile career in B2B events and want to work somewhere vibrant, supportive and fun, look no further. With us you get more than a job. You get an environment where you can thrive, grow your skills and enjoy what you do.
