Do you enjoy connecting with people, love animals and take pride in making someone’s day a little easier?
We’re looking for a friendly and motivated Veterinary Receptionist to join our Client Services team at our newly reopened Bellerive hospital.
TVH is growing, and this is an exciting time to join our team. With our newly reopened Bellerive hospital and continued growth across our hospitals, we’re building on our commitment to exceptional care and investing in our people. We would love to welcome someone who wants to grow with us and shares our commitment to caring for our clients, their pets and each other.
About us
At Tasmanian Veterinary Hospitals, our mission is to promote, support and strengthen the bond between people and their pets by delivering the highest standards of veterinary care.
Our Client Services team is a big part of this. You’re often the first person a client speaks to and the first face they see when they arrive. Whether they’re bringing home a new puppy, worried about an unwell pet or navigating a difficult goodbye, your warmth and support can make a real difference.
About the role
Working full-time across a 9-day fortnight, you’ll be part of a busy team, working closely with our vets and nurses to support our clients and help the hospital run smoothly.
Your day will include:
Welcoming clients and their pets and helping them feel comfortable and cared for.
Responding to enquiries in person, over the phone and by email.
Managing appointments, coordinating admissions and keeping clients informed.
Recognizing urgent concerns and working with our clinical team to arrange appropriate care.
Completing administration,
maintaining accurate records and processing payments.
Helping your colleagues and being ready to adapt when the day doesn’t go to plan.
About you
You’re warm, approachable and enjoy helping people. You understand that a busy reception requires both great customer service and strong organization, and you’re comfortable balancing the two.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has at least two years’ experience in a busy customer service role.
Communicates clearly and treats people with kindness and respect.
Can manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
Shows initiative and follows through on tasks.
Is reliable, adaptable and enjoys being part of a team.
Veterinary experience is highly regarded but not essential. We’ll provide training and support to help you build your knowledge and confidence.
What you’ll receive
You’ll join a welcoming team in our newly reopened Bellerive hospital, with experienced colleagues to learn from and the tools and training to help you settle into your role.
Along with a 9-day fortnight, you’ll receive:
A $600 annual professional development allowance.
An annual pet-care allowance.
Mentoring and development supported by our dedicated Training Manager.
Access to our Employee Assistance Program.
In office parking.
Career opportunities across a growing Tasmanian veterinary organisation.
We value the contribution our Client Services team makes and the care they bring to every interaction.
