The role is first responder for all incident call outs, regardless of trade — repairing or making safe HVAC and building services faults, and arranging the correct specialist contractor for the following morning where an issue can't be resolved on the night. It works alongside the FIR Handyperson and carries out preventative maintenance during quieter periods.

About your new role:
- Respond as first responder to all call outs, regardless of trade — repair or make secure, then arrange the correct contractor to attend the following morning if the issue can't be resolved
- Monitor BMS and AIMS alarms if the FIR Handyperson is absent
- Perform steam boiler blow downs where required (training provided)
- Carry out preventative maintenance during the shift when no incidents are occurring
- Provide reporting inputs on: after-hours avoidance (what was triaged and what follow-up is needed), continuous improvement suggestions, surge event hours, alarm root cause, and idle time waiting for incidents
Roster
- 16-week cycle: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, with occasional standby on Sunday nights and public holiday nights (52 shifts per cycle on average)
- 12-hour shifts, 7am–7pm (or overnight equivalent), with handover at the start and end of every shift
- Average 39 hours per week
- Works alongside the FIR Handyperson
Skills and Experience:
Must have :
- Relevant trade qualification (Electrical, Plumber etc)
- Experience in building maintenance or facilities environment.
- Experience monitoring BMS/alarm systems
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- OH &S; General Induction White Care required.
- Working with Children Check
Nice to have:
- Experience operating steam boiler plant
- First Aid certificate
- Working at heights ticket
