Recent Year 12 graduates and school leavers are encouraged to apply and take the first step towards building their skills and experience in the horticulture industry.
About the Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship:
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and care of parks, gardens, and public green spaces
- Develop practical horticultural skills, including planting, pruning, mulching, and weed management
- Learn to safely operate, use, and maintain a range of gardening tools and equipment
- Support landscape construction, design, and improvement projects
- Build knowledge of plant varieties, growing conditions, and individual plant care requirements
- Help create and maintain sustainable, attractive outdoor environments
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver quality outcomes
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry guidelines at all times
The ideal Parks and Gardens Apprentice:
- A strong enthusiasm and interest in pursuing a career in the parks and gardens industry
- A genuine passion for plants, landscaping, and maintaining outdoor environments
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn recent skills and develop professionally
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Hold a Red Probationary Driver Licence (or be close to obtaining one)
and have access to reliable transport
- Recent Year 12 graduates, early school leavers, and current school leavers are encouraged to apply
