About you and this position
Reporting to the Manager City Operations, you will coordinate the delivery of Council’s green asset maintenance programs across parks, reserves, streetscapes, irrigation, tree management and biodiversity areas throughout the City.

This position leads operational staff and contractors to ensure Council’s open spaces and green assets are maintained to a high standard, while balancing customer expectations, safety, environmental outcomes and operational priorities.



The role is fast-paced and diverse, involving day-to-day operational management, contractor supervision, program delivery, budgeting, customer requests and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and the wider community to support the presentation, sustainability and functionality of Council’s parks and open space network.

As a successful candidate, you will have :

- Demonstrated experience leading operational teams, contractors and maintenance programs within parks, horticulture, arboriculture, turf or biodiversity environments
- Strong knowledge and experience in horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation, biodiversity and open space maintenance operations
- Well-developed communication, organisational, contract management and problem-solving skills
- Relevant qualifications in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Conservation or Turf Management and a current Driver’s Licence
- Experience in budget preparation and monitoring (desirable)
- Experience in stormwater harvesting, recycled water systems and irrigation operations (desirable)
- Experience using asset management systems, GIS and related technology to support operational service delivery (desirable)
- Experience working with community and volunteer groups, including biodiversity and revegetation initiatives (desirable)
