Temporary Full Time up to 12 months 35 hours, 5 days $103,401.23 to $113,301.30 + Super
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Site Inspector to oversee and monitor the day-to-day activities of Council contractors and service providers, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with contractual requirements, project specifications, and Work Health & Safety (WHS) obligations.
In this role, you will conduct in office inspections, monitor compliance, identify and report issues, and liaise with contractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
This position is required to support night works, with site activities occurring between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am, Sunday through Thursday. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an on-site presence throughout the duration of the works to ensure compliance, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in civil construction or a related field.
- Current Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current White Card and Traffic Control accreditation.
- Extensive experience delivering civil construction projects, including roads and drainage infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and monitor construction teams across a range of infrastructure projects.
- Experience coordinating and working with contractors on active construction sites.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings,
plans, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, techniques, and project delivery.
- Sound understanding of project management principles and construction issue resolution.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical practices, and diversity principles.
- Understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.
- Ability to apply probity principles in all operational and project-related activities.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
