The position supports the administration of venue hire bookings, event documentation, financial processing, hospitality and Front of House operations, and contributes to the successful delivery of a diverse range of performances, functions, workshops, meetings and community events.
The position liaises with external hirers, community groups, performers, contractors and internal Council stakeholders to assist with the coordination and delivery of events and ensure a positive experience for venue users and patrons.
The role works collaboratively with the Civic Theatre and Riverina Playhouse teams and contributes to the efficient day-to-day operation of the venues, ensuring activities are undertaken in accordance with Council policies, venue procedures, work health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.

Your new role
As the Venue and Events Officer, you will:
- Provide administrative support to the Venue Coordinator for venue hire bookings, including maintaining accurate booking records, correspondence, event information and documentation.
- Assist with the administration and coordination of community and commercial venue hire bookings, including liaising with hirers and internal stakeholders, maintaining required forms, agreements and event information. Provide financial administration support including processing of purchase orders and invoices as well as assisting event reconciliations.
- Support the Venue Coordinator and Front of House team in the delivery of events, including assisting with event setup, pack-down, patron services and general operational requirements.
- Provide hospitality support including stock management, platter preparation, basic food and beverage service, and other hospitality duties as required.
- Maintaining cleaning schedules and standards across both venues and report cleaning or maintenance issues as required.
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to hirers, patrons, community groups, performers, contractors and other stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in administration, events, hospitality, performing arts, customer service or a similar environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organise and prioritise workloads, manage competing priorities and changing operational requirements,
and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
- NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Class C Driver Licence.
