Perth
Our client is an ASX-listed gold producer with underground operations and growth projects across Western Australia. With a strong project pipeline and an active approach to growth, the company is building a lean, high-calibre corporate team in its West Perth head office. It's a team that moves quickly and sees the impact of its work.
About the role
Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, you'll play a central role in the group's mining engineering function. The role is based in West Perth, with periodic travel to the operations to keep planning, standards and priorities aligned across the group. This is a chance to step back from the day-to-day of a single site and operate at a level where your decisions directly shape company performance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the monthly and quarterly planning cycle, and consolidating site plans into a group view
- Providing technical support and guidance to site engineering teams
- Contributing to project work, including studies, mine designs, optimisation and growth opportunities
- Reviewing site plans and performance against budget, and identifying risks and improvement opportunities
- Supporting broader engineering functions such as standards, reconciliation, budgeting and reporting
- Providing coverage and support at site when required, including statutory roles
About you
You're an underground mining engineer with a well-rounded background across production, planning and project roles. You might be a Senior Engineer or Planning Superintendent on site today, and you're ready to apply that experience at a higher level. You're comfortable in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities across multiple sites, and communicate clearly with site teams and senior leadership.
You will bring:
- A degree in Mining Engineering
- 8+ years' experience in underground mining, ideally in hard rock or gold
- A demonstrated track record across production, short- and long-term planning, and project roles
- A WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency, and willingness to use it for site coverage or support when required
- Robust proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik
- A sound understanding of mine scheduling, budgeting and reconciliation
What's on offer
- A total remuneration package of $220,000+ AUD, comprising base salary and superannuation
- A Perth-based role in the West Perth head office, with periodic site travel
- Exposure to multiple operations and projects, giving you breadth few site roles offer
- A small, collaborative team with direct access to senior leadership
- Real career progression with a producer that's growing
