The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic Property Lawyer with solid technical capability and an interest in commercial property and transactional work, including property, commercial transactions, leasing and contractual matters.
We are also open to considering applications from junior lawyers who are confident managing matters independently and keen to continue developing their technical expertise and client relationships. For the right person, there is genuine scope to grow your client portfolio, take on greater responsibility and play an important role in the firm's future.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Property team to run Property matters
- Conduct legal matters from beginning to end or as required
- Prepare and review Contracts for Sale predominantly commercial and rural properties and businesses
- Manage a large volume of predominantly commercial property matters through to settlement and supervise Legal Assistant support.
- Assist with commercial transactional work, leasing and contractual matters
- Prepare and review deeds, retail and commercial leases, licence agreements, off-the-plan contracts, Strata By-Laws,
Easements and Positive Covenants, and other property related documents
- Prepare property advice to clients or for Partner review
- Liaise with Solicitors, Paralegals and Legal Assistants as required, providing support
- Work across the Hurstville and Sydney CBD offices and attend client meetings as required
About You
- 3-5 years' experience in Property Law or a similar industry
- Strong experience liaising and managing clients, solicitors, and other stakeholders
- Excellent file management skills and strong attention to detail
- Collaborative approach with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and flexible work approach
- Commercially minded with an interest in the commercial property market
- Ambitious and motivated to make the role their own
- A sound understanding of Wills & Estates would be advantageous
