The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Remedial & Refurbishment Supervisor to join MARS Maintenance Pty Ltd.
This is a hands‑on supervisory role where you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of remedial, refurbishment and building maintenance projects across multiple sites. Projects may include structural repairs, waterproofing works, facade upgrades, building renewals, tenancy refurbishments, insurance reinstatement works and occupied‑building construction projects.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating trades, subcontractors, suppliers and site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This position is ideal for an experienced leading hand,
foreman or supervisor looking to take ownership of projects while developing their career within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Leading site safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with all WHS requirements, Protected Work Method Statements (SWMS) and company safety procedures.
- Managing daily site operations across remedial, refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- Supervising subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinating occupied‑building works while maintaining positive relationships with clients, tenants, residents and building managers.
- Ensuring all works meet MARS Maintenance quality standards, project specifications and client expectations.
- Monitoring project programs and proactively managing activities to achieve critical milestones.
- Completing daily site diaries, site inspections, toolbox talks and safety documentation.
- Managing procurement of materials, equipment hire and labour resources.
- Coordinating deliveries and verifying quality and quantities of materials received.
- Assisting with project planning, programming and sequencing of works.
- Managing defect rectification and quality assurance inspections.
- Identifying and communicating project risks, delays and variations promptly.
- Assisting in the preparation and documentation of client and subcontractor variations.
- Supporting project close‑outs, commissioning and handover activities.
- Maintaining accurate project records using company systems including Procore and other project management platforms.
- Attending client meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings and internal project reviews.
To Succeed in This Role You Will Have
- Previous experience as a Site coordinator / Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar role within construction, remedial or refurbishment works.
- Experience delivering refurbishment, remediation, maintenance or fitout projects.
- Trade qualifications in carpentry, building, concreting, waterproofing or a related field are highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building defects and remediation solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, engineering details and scopes of work.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and site safety management.
- Experience working within occupied buildings and live operating environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Competent computer skills, including project management and reporting platforms.
- Current driver's licence.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
