Senior HR Consultant (Mat Leave Cover 14 Month, 0.8 FTE)
Perth-based HR consultancy supporting 200+ industry-diverse clients Australia-wide seeks experienced Senior HR Consultant to join our collaborative and productive team. This contract is a 14 month fixed term maternity leave cover, with the potential to become permanent subject to business growth.

Engage in continuous learning through team lessons, on-the-job and formal legal training.
Develop your leadership skills though 1:1 coaching with our in-house Strategic Business & Leadership Development Consultant.
Build and grow your own client portfolio across all industries and Awards.
Get exposure to various industries and complex matters, including Fair Work conciliations and conferences.
Attractive earnings compromised of:
Base salary ($105-110k)
Fuel allowance (up to $1,800 per year based on portfolio)
Annual incentives (up to $12,000)
Uncapped commissions (5%) for bringing on new clients
Realistic, achievable workloads – flexible days
Flexible start/finish times negotiable with Director between Mon - Fri. 7:30am - 6:30pm window, with consideration to client and existing staff coverage.
One dedicated work-from-home day per week subject to successful completion of probation.
Visit client sites across Perth metro. Opt-in travel opportunities interstate and regional WA, subject to your client portfolio.

What you bring:
Minimum 2 years in a qualified services consulting role
Minimum 4 years in an HR advisory role (Business Partner or higher level preferred)
Minimum 2 years of industrial relations or employment law experience (with direct Award interpretation)
Proven experience working across multiple industries and client portfolios simultaneously
Demonstrated competency in:
End-to-end performance management
End-to-end disciplinary matters
Complex HR and IR matters
Award interpretation
Pay audits and pay-related calculations
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in HR, IR, employment law, organisational psychology, or management
Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with, and achieving, billable hours
HRIS platform knowledge (e.g. Employment Hero, Tanda, or Deputy)
Experience with Outlook, Teams and the Microsoft 365 suite
Sound understanding of AI and how to leverage it to enhance quality work, not replace critical thinking
Your first three months:
Jan-Feb: Your first priority will be learning the role of the HR Consultant – focusing on client work, internal processes and building your billables. You’ll be mentored directly by the current Snr HRC Team Lead, who’ll be commencing maternity leave in March.
Feb-Mar: You’ll step into your mentoring capacity, supporting the HR Officers. We currently have one HR Officer, with the expected commencement of a second in March 2027 subject to forecast growth.
March ongoing: You’ll take full ownership of your role, balancing both billable accountabilities and mentorship of our junior HR professionals. You’ll assist with internal projects and support the development of internal resources to support Employii’s commitment to High Quality Service.
Provide expert HR and industrial relations advice to employers, employees and membership associations across Australia
Cover the full spectrum: recruitment, employee engagement, industrial relations, awards and agreements, contracts, policies, performance management, change management, rewards programs and more
Deliver services both virtually and face-to-face with our Commitment to High Quality Service in mind
Present online and in-person training for clients, business associations, school and universities.
Delegate and collaborate with team members and external stakeholders
Ensure timely, accurate service delivery and effective resource allocation
Foster strong, trust-based client relationships
Manage client service usage in accordance with their service package and expectations
Meet billable hours KPIs (only half of your day is billable ~4 hours, to be achieved at 3 month mark). In comparison, industry averages are typically 60-85% of day.
Leadership:
Support the HR Officers to succeed in their role – coach, teach and mentor with enthusiasm.
When required, assist HR Consultants with more complex work. While they won’t report into you, we support a learning workplace which is unrestricted by reporting lines.
