Multi-site hospitality leadership | South West WA

A senior hospitality leadership role — without the late nights.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to join a growing, established multi-site hospitality business across the South West.

This is a newly created senior role with real influence across our venues, people, performance and next stage of growth.

Why this role is different

We are predominantly a daytime operation. Our venues trade during the day, so this is not a traditional senior hospitality role built around late nights. There will naturally be occasional business requirements outside normal hours, but the operation is overwhelmingly daytime-focused — a genuine lifestyle advantage for an experienced hospitality leader.

Since opening our first cafe in 2009, Benesse has grown into a well-established and much-loved South West hospitality business, with multiple locations and an exciting future ahead. Our venues are well known within the communities we operate in, and the relationships we have built with our customers and our people are an important part of who we are.

For that reason, we are looking for someone who is genuinely a people person — warm, grounded, approachable and comfortable building relationships at every level of the business.

You will be someone who enjoys being present in the venues, getting to know the teams, supporting managers and understanding what is actually happening day to day. You will be able to build trust and bring people with you while still setting clear expectations and holding people accountable.

The role

Working closely with the owner, HR and our venue management teams,

you will take ownership of operational performance across the business.

You will be visible, hands-on and commercially focused — building strong managers, improving systems and standards, solving problems and ensuring the role creates measurable value.

- Build strong, engaged teams and create a positive, high-performance culture.
- Develop genuine relationships with managers and team members across the business.
- Lead, coach and hold Cafe Managers accountable across multiple locations.
- Drive revenue growth while improving underlying profitability.
- Improve labour performance, cost of goods, operational efficiency and management controls.
- Maintain consistently high customer experience, product and service standards.
- Identify problems early, create practical solutions and follow them through.
- Work with HR on recruitment, performance management, retention and team development.
- Strengthen systems, reporting, accountability and communication across the business.
- Support new initiatives and future growth while protecting the culture and standards that have made the business successful.

About you

- Proven multi-site leadership experience, ideally within hospitality or a fast-paced service-led business.

- Experience leading managers — not only frontline teams.
- Commercial understanding of revenue, P&L;, labour, COGS and profit improvement.
- A genuinely warm, grounded people person who naturally builds relationships, earns trust and brings teams with them.
- Approachable and comfortable communicating with people at every level of the business.
- Practical, decisive and solutions-focused; you take ownership rather than simply identifying problems.
- Comfortable moving between the floor, management conversations and commercial reporting.
- Able to balance strong commercial accountability with people, culture and customer experience.
- Able to demonstrate where you have improved performance in a previous business.

We welcome applications from experienced operators based locally, elsewhere in WA or interstate. For candidates considering a move to the South West, relocation assistance may be considered for the right person.

Package

A competitive senior management package, including performance-based incentives, will be offered to the right candidate.

What success looks like

This role is expected to create measurable value through stronger leadership and business improvement.

Performance will be assessed across revenue growth, profit, labour, COGS, team engagement, customer satisfaction and operational execution.

Just as importantly, success will mean having robust relationships across the business, developing capable managers and building a team that wants to perform.

Applications will be reviewed as received.
