Artefact Heritage and Environment – Pyrmont NSW

As a Heritage Consultant, you will undertake fieldwork and contribute to historical and Aboriginal archaeological assessments. You will research heritage places and prepare transparent, well-supported reports and recommendations, work with colleagues to deliver projects safely, on time and to a high standard, prepare work that meets relevant legislative requirements and professional standards, engage respectfully with Aboriginal communities, clients and other stakeholders, and contribute to proposals and help build positive client relationships.

Key responsibilities

- Research heritage places and prepare clear, well-supported reports and recommendations

- Work with colleagues to deliver projects safely, on time and to a high standard

- Prepare work that meets relevant legislative requirements and professional standards

- Engage respectfully with Aboriginal communities, clients and other stakeholders

- Contribute to proposals and help build positive client relationships

About you

- At least one year of full-time experience in archaeology or cultural heritage consulting

- A relevant degree in archaeology, heritage or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

- Experience in archaeological fieldwork, heritage research, assessment or report writing

- An understanding of heritage legislation and practice in NSW

- Strong writing, communication and organisational skills

- A collaborative approach and an interest in working across historical and Aboriginal archaeology
