You will lead the maintenance of Sarens' cranes, SPMTs, trailers, trucks, forklifts, and telehandlers, making sure every piece of equipment is safe, well maintained, and ready to deploy. You will manage a team of supervisors and technicians, balance budgets, and keep maintenance standards high across the fleet.
What you will do
- Keep all equipment in safe, exceptional operating condition through preventive and predictive maintenance
- Lead and coach the Workshop Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, and technicians
- Set KPIs for supervisors and hold the team accountable for maintenance targets
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget and monitor spending against it
- Ensure equipment certification and compliance with applicable legislation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in the ERP system and SARPLAN database
- Conduct Workplace Inspections and promote a strong SHEQ culture
What you will bring
- Trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, or Electrotechnology, or a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Five years or more in fleet or maintenance management of cranes, heavy vehicles, or mobile plant
- At least three years leading supervisors and technical teams
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems
- Experience with an ERP maintenance module
- Budget preparation and cost control experience
- Current driver's licence
- Sound working knowledge of WHS legislation and plant registration and certification requirements
Nice to have
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, or Management
- Experience with crawler and mobile cranes (e.g. Liebherr, Grove, Terex, Tadano), SPMTs, and heavy haulage trailers
- Multi-site or multi-depot fleet experience
- Knowledge of the AS 2550 crane standards series
- Experience with telematics or condition monitoring systems
- Heavy rigid or heavy combination licence
