We are looking for a commercially minded, detail-oriented and proactive Major Projects Estimator & Sales Support professional to join our growing team at Grove Hire.

This is a diverse role that brings together estimating, sales support, project coordination and design. Working closely with our Major Projects team, you will help transform client requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions, from initial opportunity identification through to pricing, proposal development and project handover.

About the Role

As a key member of our Major Projects team, you will play an integral role in supporting the development and delivery of project opportunities.



From interpreting client requirements and preparing competitive estimates to developing site compound layouts and coordinating tender submissions, you will help ensure our solutions are both commercially sound and tailored to our clients' needs.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, clients and suppliers, you will help drive opportunities forward, ensuring submissions are accurate, professionally presented and delivered within required timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive pricing and estimates for major project opportunities.

Develop AutoCAD drawings and site layouts for temporary site compounds.

Coordinate the hire of site sheds, facilities and associated equipment to meet project requirements.

Prepare professional client proposals, quotations and tender submissions.

Identify and monitor new opportunities through lead-generation software, tender platforms and client portals.

Maintain accurate opportunity, pricing and submission records within our CRM and Intranet systems.

Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather information, clarify requirements and meet submission deadlines.

Support the successful handover of awarded projects to operational teams, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to delivery.

Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes, systems and client submissions.

About You

You are organised,



commercially aware and enjoy combining technical and administrative skills to deliver practical solutions. You take initiative, have strong attention to detail and can manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.

Ideally, you will bring:

Experience in estimating, sales support, project coordination, construction, hire or a similar industry.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce clear, accurate site layouts (training can be provided for the right candidate).

Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

Confidence using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, tender platforms and online portals.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional client-facing documentation.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.

A collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
