Site Supervisor / Project Engineer | Dark Fibre Telecommunications Infrastructure

The team is highly experienced and focused on delivering excellence for customers through an innovative approach.
The opportunity
The company is taking on several large telecommunications infrastructure builds around Australia and is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor / Project Engineer to help deliver them. You will be responsible for all aspects of infrastructure project delivery, including contractor liaison, OH&S; management, and ensuring client specifications comply with regulatory requirements.
Acting as the primary interface between infrastructure contractors, technical teams, Project Managers and the Fibre Operations Manager, you will operate independently across functional groups and stakeholders. This is a 75/25 field to office role, with sites in West Melbourne and North West Melbourne.

Key responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects and drive delivery of current and future infrastructure builds
- Own the full project lifecycle, from commencement through to completion and handover
- Read and interpret technical specifications
- Carry out pre start scope assessments and site visits to identify risks and confirm scope, buildability and schedule
- Monitor and maintain the quality of deliverables throughout each project
- Provide daily updates and forecasts of works
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, statutory authorities and all levels of the organisation
- Solve problems and implement corrective action across ongoing projects
- Mentor and manage other staff when required
- Support the Project Management team with administration
- Participate in the on call roster (one week in four, 24/7) to manage outages and maintenance
About you
- 5 years' experience in telecommunications construction
- Sound dark fibre technical knowledge
- A suitable work vehicle
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and solid written and verbal communication
- Able to work under pressure, to strict deadlines and with limited supervision
- An engaging manner and the ability to build rapport with clients and key stakeholders
- Forward thinking, driven, and able to move quickly at a client's request
