Complex disability support in Toowoomba, apartments & community, 24/7.
MS Queensland is seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers to provide in-home and community-based care for individuals with high and complex support needs. This role supports clients living with Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Cerebral Palsy, and other neurological conditions.
You will work within a 24/7 rotating roster across Toowoomba-based apartments and the surrounding community, delivering high-quality, person-centred care while strictly adhering to individual care plans.
Applications are reviewed daily with interviews conducted immediately following a successful phone screen.
There are both part time (guaranteed 2 shifts a fortnight minimum) and casual opportunities available. Our casual opportunities offer flexibility while providing a potential pathway to part-time employment as ongoing opportunities become available.
Shift Types | Please note these times are approximate and general shift times – these may change to meet customer need:
- Morning: 6:00am to 2:00pm
- Afternoon: 2:00pm to10:00pm
- Awake Night: 10:00pm to 6:00am
- Community Access Shifts (4-hour shifts)(GD1)(MA2)
- Rosters published 2weeks in advance.
- Shifts available across all days , with options for nights/weekends .
- Tell us your availability, we’ll match you to consistent shifts where available.
- Multiple location across the Toowoomba region including in-home (including Apartment complexes) and community supports.

Pay Rates (for Part-time roles)
- Morning: $36.22/hr
- Afternoon: $40.75
- Night: $41.65
- Saturday: $54.33
- Sunday: $72.44

Pay Rates (for Casual roles inclusive of casual loading)
- Morning: $45.28/hr
- Afternoon: $49.80/hr
- Night: $50.71/hr
- Saturday: $63.39/hr
- Sunday: $81.50/hr

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care and daily living support (mobility, meals,
domestic tasks)
- Support community access and meaningful participation to build independence
- Provide medication support and assist with medical appointments as required
- Deliver complex supports in line with care plans (catheter/bowel care, hoisting/transfers, PEG feeding, suctioning and more)
- Monitor wellbeing, document accurately, and elevate health/behaviour changes promptly
- Maintain clear records and follow individual care plans, policies and safe work practices
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver consistent, safe, person-centred support every shift
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Completed Cert III in Individual Support (Disability)/Disability Support (or equivalent) – completion certificate required
- Current RTO-issued First Aid (within last 3 years) and CPR (within last 12 months)
- Proven high/complex needs experience (24/7 or supported accommodation preferred), including neurological conditions and/or complex behaviour support (highly regarded)
- Confident delivering complex physical supports in line with care plans: personal care, catheter/bowel care, hoisting/transfers, PEG feeding, and medication support
- Person-centred approach with NDIS understanding (or willingness to learn quickly) and a strong commitment to dignity and choice
- Strong communication plus high-quality documentation; values consistency, teamwork, and doing things properly
- Reliable, proactive, calm under pressure, adaptable and able to follow plans precisely as needs change
Additional Requirements:
- Current open Australian driver’s licence

- Completion of NDIS Online Worker Training (prior to commencement)
