We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated Cook to join our team at Robina State School Outside School Hours Care - OSHC.

Robina OSHC is a P&C; operated service licensed for 195 children, providing a welcoming, inclusive and engaging environment for primary school aged children. Our Cook will play an important role in the daily experience of our children and will be a valued member of our wider OSHC and school community.

This is more than just a cooking role. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the kitchen, bring energy and ideas to our food program and become a familiar and friendly face for our children. We want someone who enjoys working around children, takes pride in what they create and understands the important role that nutritious and appealing food plays in their wellbeing.

Working from our custom built commercial grade kitchen, you will be responsible for planning and preparing a monthly menu of nutritious and enjoyable meals and snacks. You will have the freedom and flexibility to bringyour own ideas to the menu, while considering children's ages, interests, feedback, dietary requirements and nutritional needs.

The successful applicant will be confident working independently and managing the day to day operation of thekitchen , including preparing food in larger quantities, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, monitoring stock and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.

We are looking for someone who:

- Isenthusiastic, energetic and genuinely enjoys working around children.
- Has a genuine passion for home baking, healthy eating, nutrition and preparing food children enjoy.
- Can confidently work independently, take initiative and manage their own workload.
- Is comfortable cooking and preparing food in larger quantities.
- Takes pride in presentation, quality and consistency.




- Enjoys developing menus and is happy to bring creativity and new ideas to the kitchen.
- Is organised and able to maintain smooth day to day kitchen operations.
- Has excellent communication skills and is comfortable working as part of a broader OSHC and P&C; team.
- Understands the importance of dietary requirements, food safety and quality control.
- Would enjoy being a friendly, familiar face within our OSHC community.

Previous OSHC or childcare cooking experience is preferred but not essential.

We are more interested in finding the right person - someone who is passionate about food and home baking, enjoys being around children, can confidently run a kitchen independently and wants to make a genuine contribution to our service.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with the service's menu and dietary requirements
- Ensure all food preparation follows strict hygiene and food safety standards, including proper storage, handling and preparation procedures
- Accommodate children's allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including daily cleaning, sanitisation and equipment monitoring
- Manage food inventory, stock control and ordering in consultation with management
- Prepare meals and snacks that are age appropriate, and appealing to children
- Comply with all relevant food safety legislation, regulations and the service's policies and procedures




- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain within the month of employment
- Completed Geccko Child Safety Training, mandatory within 14 days of successful employment
- Current Working with Children Check, Blue Card
- Understanding of relevant childcare regulations and standards in an OSHC setting
- Experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a childcare, school or commercial food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Including allergen/intolerance management
- Ability to plan and prepare meals catering to dietary requirements
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management and educators
- A genuine passion for child wellbeing and nutrition
