Dermatology Nurse (RN or EN) - Permanent Part-Time
You will work closely with the dermatologist during consulting and procedural sessions and play an important role in providing high-quality patient care and maintaining effective clinic flow. The role offers variety across medical dermatology, procedural care, patient education and general clinic operations.
Hours and availability
The position will initially involve one regular day per week - Monday with the role expected to increase to approximately two regular days per week in the near future as the clinic continues to grow
Additional shifts and leave-cover opportunities will be available from time to time.
Availability on additional weekdays and flexibility to increase to two regular days will be highly regarded.
Remuneration : $35-$45 per hour + super, depending on registration, experience and classification.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the dermatologist with medical and minor surgical procedures
- Assist with biopsies and minor skin surgery
- Prepare treatment and procedure rooms
- Organise instruments and maintain appropriate infection-control and sterilisation standards
- Provide wound care and dressings
- Assist with injections and other delegated clinical treatments within scope of practice
- Support patients receiving biologic therapies, including injection education and treatment guidance
- Assist with PBS medication applications and related clinical documentation
- Perform or assist with pathology collection where appropriate
- Monitor clinical stock and ensure instruments and equipment are available and functional.
- Support patients before, during and after consultations and procedures
- Provide pre- and post-procedure education and wound-care advice within scope of practic
- Communicate routine results and follow-up information as directed by the dermatologist
- Take clinical photographs as directed, with appropriate consent and documentation
- Provide occasional administrative and front-desk support when required,including assistance with calls, bookings, payments and general clinic coordination during busy periods or receptionist absence
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse- essential.
- Previous experience in dermatology, specialist practice, skin cancer, plastics or surgical nursing is highly regardedbut not essential .
- Comfortable assisting with minor procedures and wound care
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Professional, reliable, organised and attentive to detail
- Flexible, adaptable and proactive
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the dermatologist and clinic team
- Comfortable working within a small, growing specialist practice

Dermatology-specific training provided , with opportunities for further training and involvement in selected procedural dermatology treatments, depending on experience, training and scope of practice.
