About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team and support the day-to-day procurement and inventory operations of the business.This is an onsite role based at our Altona office.

This is a hands-on procurement role where you will work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Finance, Quality, suppliers and contractors to ensure materials, products and services are purchased efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with business requirements.

You will be responsible for managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, inventory accuracy, stock control and procurement documentation, while also identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities in accordance with company procedures and delegated authority.
- Receive, review and process purchase order requests from internal stakeholders.
- Raise and manage purchase orders for materials, products, services, contractors and operational requirements.
- Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect agreed pricing, quantities, specifications,



delivery requirements and terms.
- Monitor outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, specifications and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within delegated authority to achieve value for money.
- Monitor supplier performance and *escalate* supply or delivery issues where required.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accurate stock records.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in partnership with Warehouse, Operations and Finance.
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages, excess or obsolete inventory.
- Support stocktake activities and ensure inventory movements are accurately recorded and traceable.
- Maintain accurate procurement, supplier and inventory records and documentation.
- Manage contractor purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Assist with procurement and inventory reporting, including outstanding purchase orders and supplier performance.




- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs and minimise supply risks.
- Support audit, financial control, quality and compliance requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially minded and enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory or a similar operational role.
- Experience raising and managing purchase orders.
- Experience working with suppliers and contractors.
- Solid inventory control, reconciliation and cycle counting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong computer literacy and experience using ERP, procurement or inventory systems.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Warehouse, Finance and Quality.
- A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
