As a Food Services Officer located at the Royal Hobart Hospital, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of patients and staff across Tasmania’s public hospitals and health facilities. The team works collaboratively to ensure the safe preparation, handling, and delivery of nutritious meals that meet diverse dietary and clinical needs. With a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, the Food Services team contributes directly to patient care and recovery in a rapid-paced, supportive environment.

The Role

As a Food Services Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of quality meal services to patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will assist with food preparation, cleaning and sanitising kitchen areas and equipment, stock handling, and maintaining food safety standards. You will contribute to ensuring meals are delivered efficiently, safely and with a focus on excellent customer service.

You will need

- Experience or interest in food preparation, food service or hospitality environments.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.




- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the workplace.
- A reliable approach to work with a focus on providing excellent service to patients, visitors and staff

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent, full time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$59,668 to $65,185 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
