About the role

As an Education Support Officer in Nursing, you’ll help students build confidence as they learn new concepts and practical skills. You’ll support learners one-on-one and in small groups, offering guidance, encouragement, and simple follow-up instruction that keeps them engaged and progressing. Working closely with Teachers, you'll bring tutoring plans to life across both face-to-face and online environments.

You’ll also lend a hand with basic documentation and day-to-day tasks that keep the section running smoothly. From time to time, you may travel locally to support students while they’re on placement. This permanent part-time role is a outstanding way to experience working with TAFE—whether you’re exploring a future in education or looking to balance this work alongside your nursing career.

Note:

This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.

About You

You enjoy helping others succeed and can explain ideas in a clear, friendly, and practical way. You thrive in an adult learning environment and feel confident motivating students from all backgrounds as they work through their Nursing studies. Building strong relationships comes naturally to you, and you take pride in contributing to a team that puts learners first.

You’re also comfortable with technology, using tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Teams or Zoom to support students both on campus and online. You communicate well, show initiative, and bring a calm, organised approach to your work—making you a valued part of the teaching team.
